Students Union

• The election to the Students Union is conducted in a free and fair poll according to the norms fixed by the Government, the University and the Managing Committee. Prof.K.Rabi Ahamed, Head of the Department of Physics, is the presiding officer. The posts of Vice -Chairman and Joint Secretary are reserved for girl students. Besides a representative for each class, the office-bearers will be elected.

THE CAREER GUIDANCE AND THE COUNSELLING CELL

The Career Guidance and the Counselling Cell of our college has been sanctioned Rupees Five Lakhs under the XI Plan of the UGC (Merged Scheme)

Two UGC-Sponsored Career-oriented programmes have been organized to create awareness on various Competitive Examinations conducted for entry into Government Services.

1. A Seminar on "Preparing for Competitive Examinations" was conducted for the students of our college on 23.03.2010.

2. An Inter-collegiate Seminar on "I.A.S, I.P.S and other Services" was organized on 31.03.2010.

3. Mr. Richard Robinson from TIME, Tirunelveli Centre, gave a presentation on CAT Examination - 2010 on 06.07.2010.

4. The 2000-2003 Batch English literature Students hosted a presentation on "Career Opportunities for English Literature Students". The programme was organized jointly by the Department of English and the Career Guidance and the Counselling Cell on 12.07.2010.

5. N.Jamaludeen of B.Sc Computer Science, T.Anbu Uma B.Sc. IT, J.S. Syed Mohamed Sadath of B.B.A and Narayani K.Rema of B.Com. have been selected for placements in India Infoline, Chennai, HCL, Chennai, and Value Added Fund, Chennai.
