DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

The Bachelor’s Degree Course in Chemistry was started in 1979. The Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) was introduced in the year 2007 – 2008. The department also offers Certificate and Diploma courses in Chemical Analysis. The Chemistry programme has been carefully planned to give the students a strong foundation in theory and applications of recent trends in chemistry such as Nano Chemistry, Medical chemistry, Supramolecular Chemistry, Computational Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry.

The motto of the department of chemistry is education, employment, productivity and prosperity.

The department also offers biochemistry as one of the allied subjects to make our chemistry students familiar in molecular modeling, drug design etc.

With rich experience of teaching, the department is focusing on enhancing chemistry education with the global prospective.
