ASSOCIATION INAUGURAL

On 08th August, 2024 the Department of Commerce ‘A’ organized an association inaugural function for the academic year 2024-2025 in the college seminar hall. The Commerce Association Inaugural function was commenced with Qirath. The head of the department Dr. A. Jesuraj delivered the welcome address. The Principal Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader presented the presidential address. The Vice-Principal Dr.Syed Mohamed Khaja presented the felicitation address. The Chief Guest of the programme, Mrs. R. Kannaki, Chief Executive Director, Accsys Dot Com Store Private Limited, Chennai delivered the inaugural address on the topic “EMPOWERING WOMEN FOLK IN VARIOUS FIELDS”. The academic achievers and class representatives of the department were appreciated in the programme. Ms. M. Ahamed Shafana, Assistant Professor proposed the vote of thanks.

The program was successfully inaugurated, with Dr. D. Sulthan Basha and Dr. K Arunachala Perumal, both Assistant Professors, coordinating the event. Staff members from various departments, office bearers, and students from our department also participated.

INTRA-DEPARTMENTAL COMMERCE PROGRAM

The Department of Commerce 'A' organized an Intra-Departmental Commerce Program on October 1, 2024. This event aimed to showcase student talent, and provide a platform for academic and extracurricular activities. The program commenced with Qirath presented by Mr. H. Mohamed Irsath Baduza, of 3rd-year.Ms. M. Sakeena, of 1st year delivered the welcome address. Dr. A. Jesuraj, Head of the Department of Commerce 'A', introduced the department and its objectives. Dr. S.M. Abdul Kader, Principal, and Dr. S.M.A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice-Principal, delivered presidential and felicitation addresses, respectively.

The program included a quiz competition. The quiz competition, held in the seminar hall, was conducted in two rounds: preliminary and final. Dr. A. Jesuraj and Dr. J. Abdul Khader served as the quiz masters. The program also featured cultural performances. Ad-Zap, a short skit, was showcased in the seminar hall. The winners and runners of the quiz competition were awarded. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. P. Essaki Prakash, of 3rd-year. Ms. S. Harini Gayathri, of 3rd-year, served as the master of ceremony for the entire event.The program was successfully organized with the coordination of the Staffs and Students.

INTRA-DEPARTMENTAL START-UP IDEAS WITH SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Department of Commerce 'A' organized an Intra-Departmental Start-Up Ideas with Skill Development Program on October 1, 2024 at 3.00 P.M.in the college seminar Hall . This event aimed to showcase student talent, and provide a platform for academic and extracurricular activities. The program commenced with Qirath presented by Mr. H. The program included a session on start-up ideas. The start-up ideas session took place in Hall No. 2, with Dr. I. Antony Danish, Assistant Professor of Chemistry & IIC, Convenor, acting as the judge and Dr. S. Shahul Hameed, Assistant Professor of Business Administration & Head, acting as the skill motivator. The winners and runners of the start-up competition were awarded. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. P. Essaki Prakash, of 3rd-year. Ms. S. Harini Gayathri, of 3rd-year, served as the master of ceremony for the entire event. The program was successfully organized with the coordination of the Staffs and Students.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON PLACEMENT

On March 13, 2025, the Department of Commerce ‘A’ and the Training and Placement Cell successfully conducted an “Awareness Programme on Placement” for final year students. The event aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and insights regarding the placement process. The program featured industry experts from Entudio Private Limited, providing valuable perspectives and guidance. The event was well-received, marked by active student participation and effective coordination.

The program commenced with a Qirath recitation by Mr. Irshath of III year B.Com ‘A’, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. Sakeena of I year B.Com ‘A’. Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice-Principal, delivered the Presidential address. Dr. A. Jesuraj, Head of the Department of Commerce ‘A’, provided insightful words of wisdom, setting a positive tone for the event.

The core session, "Awareness on Placement,” was led by esteemed chief guests from Entudio Private Limited:

  2. Mr. Mohamed Noufal Arzq (CTO)
  3. Ms. Jenofer (Project Manager)

These industry professionals shared their expertise, providing students with practical advice and a comprehensive understanding of the current placement landscape. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Esha Lakshmi of III year B.Com ‘A’. U. Muthu Mari of II year B. Com ‘A’ and S.R. Harini Priya of I year B.Com ‘A’ were the Masters of Ceremony. The co-ordination of the staff members and the enthusiastic participation of the students made the program a great success.

NATIONAL SEMINAR ON TECHNOLOGICAL BASED BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND INNOVATION AND CHALLENGES

National Seminar on Technological Based Business Operations and Innovation and Challenges, held on 4th April 2025, organized by the integrated Department of Commerce, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli.

The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Dr. A. Hamil, Head of the Department of Commerce & Controller of Examination , who welcomed the chief guests and participants. Dr. S.M. Abdul Khader, Principal of Sadakathullah Appa College, shared his valuable insights on the latest trends and innovations in technological based business operations and encouraged the participants.

Dr. S.M.A Syed Mohamed Kaja, Vice Principal of Unaided Courses, Sadakathullah Appa College, emphasized the importance of technological innovations in business operations in current trends.

The first technical session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. P. Geetha, Assistant Professor of Commerce. Dr. R. Vasantha Gopal, Senior Professor and Head of the Institute of Management in Kerala, University of Kerala, Trivandrum delivered the keynote address, focusing on the latest trends in technological based business operations. This session concluded by vote of thanks Dr M.N Mohamed Abusali Shiek Assistant Professor of Commerce.

The second technical session began with a welcome address by Dr. K. Shiek Mydeen, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce (Finance). Dr. B. Revathi, Dean of Arts, Professor, and Head of the Department of Commerce, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, shared her expertise on the topic. This topic provided a valuable platform for experts, researchers, and students to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices.

A total of 35 papers were presented both online and offline mode its covering various aspects of technological based business operations and innovation and challenges.

The seminar witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 200 participants, including eminent academicians, faculty members, and students.

ASSOCIATION VALEDICTORY CEREMONY

The Department of Commerce ‘A’ of Sadakathullah Appa College (Autonomous) held its Association Valedictory Ceremony on March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the College Seminar Hall. Mr. Shiek Eid of II year recited the Qirath. Mr. Praveen of II year welcomed the gathering. Dr. A. Jesuraj, Head of Department of Commerce ‘A’, briefly outlined the achievements of the Commerce ‘A’ Association during the academic year. Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Khaja, Vice-Principal, delivered the Presidential address.

CMA P. Seenivasan and CA R. Mohan from V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority delivered the valedictory address on "Creating Awareness on Professional Courses Among Our Commerce Students," aiming to guide students towards career opportunities. Beyond the informative session, the event celebrated student achievements, awarding class toppers and students with 100% attendance, while also recognizing sports achievers and participants in intercollegiate events, highlighting the department’s commitment to holistic student development. Ms. Sakeena of I year delivered the Vote of thanks. Ms. Harini Gayathri of III year and Ms. Rajeshwari of II year Mastered the ceremony. The event, organized by the staff and students, celebrated the association's achievements and provided valuable insights to the attendees.
