The Department of Chemistry organized a Guest Lecture I on ‘Basic Stereochemistry made Simple: Concepts and Applications’ on 04.08.2025 in the Seminar Hall. Dr. R. Sujatha, Head & Dean of Sciences, Department of Chemistry, Sarah Tucker College, Tirunelveli, delivered the Guest Lecture on ‘Basic Stereochemistry made simple: Concepts and Applications‘. Department of Chemistry honored the retiring faculty Dr. R. Sujatha with shield. Dr. M. Sheik Muhideen Badhusha organized the programme. 142 students of B.Sc., Chemistry and M.Sc., Chemistry participated in the programme.

The Department of Chemistry organized a Lecture on Commemoration Day of Great Nobel Laureates Charles J. Pederson and Ahmed H. Zewail on 6.10.2025 in the Seminar Hall. R. Sankaran and B. Mohamed Sathik, II M.Sc., Chemistry presented the ‘Achievements of Charles J. Pederson’ and ‘Achievements of Ahmed H. Zewail’ respectively. 91 students of B.Sc., Chemistry and M.Sc., Chemistry participated in the programme. R. Sankaran and B. Mohamed Sathik were honored with shield.

State-Level Interschool Competition for School students Chemflash 2025

The Department of Chemistry organized a State-Level Interschool Competition for School students on 9.10.25 at Auditorium. 236 students from 21 Schools such as L. K. Sabitha and Dr. M. Fathima Shahana are Organizing Secretaries. Valedictory Address was delivered by Janab L. K. S. Meeran Mohideen, Secretary & Correspondent, The Muslim Higher Secondary School, Melapalayam, followed by Prize distribution. The Department of Chemistry in association with Placement Cell organized Guest Lecture II on 22.10.2025 in the College Seminar Hall. Dr. Abulkalam Azad, Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry, Sivanthi Aditanar College, Tiruchendur delivered the Guest Lecture II on ‘Career Guidance and Opportunities for Chemist’. Dr. Abulkalam Azad is one of the prominent Alumni, graduated B. Sc., Chemistry from our college in the year 2004. Dr. S. B. Mohamed Khalith organized the programme. 99 students of B.Sc., Chemistry and M.Sc., Chemistry participated in the programme.

Commemoration Day of Great Nobel Laureates Dorothy Crawfoot Hodgkin and Ada Yonath under the theme of Gender Equality (SDG 5)

The Department of Chemistry organized a Lecture on Commemoration Day of Great Nobel Laureates Dorothy Crawfoot Hodgkin and Ada Yonath on 5.1.2026 in the Seminar Hall. This Lecture focused the Sustainable Development Goal adopted by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and recommended by University Grants Commission under the theme of Gender Equality (SDG 5). Ms. C. Pon Shanmuga Priya and Ms. R. Aishwarya Rashmi, III B.Sc., Chemistry presented the ‘Achievements of Ada Yonath’ and ‘Achievements of Dorothy Crawfoot Hodgkin’ respectively. Dr. P. Jeslin Kanaga Inba, Dr. M. A. Sabitha and Dr. M. Fathima Shahana presented the Runner Trophy of Symphoria conducted by St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai. Dr. M. Thameem Ansari organized the programme. 162 students of B.Sc., Chemistry and M.Sc., Chemistry participated in the programme.
