The Chief Guest, Dr. V. Darling Selvi, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, Rani Anna Government College for Women, delivered the inaugural address on “Positivity Endures Victory.” She emphasized the importance of positive thinking, self-belief, and perseverance for personal and professional success. The programme aimed to equip students with essential skills to succeed in placement interviews and enhance their career readiness. The Resource Person, Dr. G. Balachandar, Placement Officer, Government Arts & Science College for Women, Alangulam, delivered an insightful session on “Ideas to Crack the Placement Interview.” He highlighted the importance of preparation, confidence, resume building, communication skills, body language, and subject knowledge.
He also provided practical tips on handling HR questions, technical rounds, and group discussions, encouraging students to maintain a positive attitude and continuously improve their employability skills. The programme concluded successfully, offering valuable guidance and motivating students to approach placement opportunities with confidence.

The Department of B.Com (Finance) organized an Industrial Visit to Kodai Chocolate Factory, Kodaikanal, on 05.02.2025 to provide practical exposure to manufacturing processes and business operations. A total of 48 students, accompanied by two faculty members, participated in the visit. Students were given an overview of the company’s history, product range, sourcing of raw materials, and market presence. During the factory tour, they observed various stages of chocolate production, including processing, molding, cooling, packaging, and labeling. The staff explained the importance of hygiene, quality control, inventory management, and production planning. The session also highlighted pricing strategies, branding, distribution channels, and challenges in the competitive market. The visit was informative and enriching, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with practical industry experience.
The Department of Commerce (Finance) organized a Guest Lecture on 12.03.2025 on the topic “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” to enhance students’ understanding of modern industrial development and sustainable economic growth. The Resource Person, Dr. R. Karuppasamy, Head, Department of BBA, Kamaraj College, delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the importance of industrial development, innovation, and infrastructure in nation-building. He emphasized the role of technology, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and government initiatives in promoting sustainable growth. Through practical examples and interactive discussion, students gained valuable insights into industry-oriented opportunities. The Department of Commerce, Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli, organized a National Seminar on 4th April 2025 on the topic “Technological Based Business Operations, Innovation and Challenges.” The seminar aimed to provide a platform for academicians, researchers, and students to discuss emerging technological trends and their impact on modern business practices. The inaugural session was presided over by Dr. S. M. Abdul Khader, Principal, who highlighted the importance of digital transformation and innovation in today’s business environment. Dr. S. M. A. Syed Mohamed Kaja emphasized the need to integrate technology into business operations to remain competitive. The First Technical Session featured a keynote address by Dr. R. Vasantha Gopal, University of Kerala, who discussed technology-driven business strategies and innovation management. The Second Technical Session was handled by Dr. B. Revathi, who elaborated on challenges and opportunities in technological transformation. A total of 35 research papers were presented in online and offline modes, with over 200 participants from various institutions. The seminar concluded successfully, promoting academic collaboration and research discussions on technological integration in business operations.
The Department of B.Com (Finance) organized a Poster Presentation Competition on 08.04.2025 on the theme “Financial Instruments.” The programme aimed to enhance students’ analytical thinking, creativity, and subject knowledge. Students actively participated by presenting informative posters on topics such as shares, debentures, bonds, mutual funds, derivatives, and treasury bills. The posters were evaluated by Dr. A. Hamil, Head & PG Research Department of Commerce (Aided), based on content clarity, creativity, subject knowledge, and presentation skills. The First Prize was awarded to K.P.M. Deshna (II B.Com Finance). The Second Prize was secured by M. Nabeelah, and the Third Prize was won by I. Kaja Muienutheen and S. Varun (III B.Com Finance). The competition successfully strengthened students’ research skills, confidence, and practical understanding of financial concepts.
The Department of Commerce (Finance) organized its Valedictory Function on 15.04.2025, marking the completion of the academic year’s association activities and enrichment programmes. The theme of the address was “Decent Work and Economic Growth.” The Resource Person, Dr. S. Padma, from Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Indian Overseas Bank, Tirunelveli, delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the importance of sustainable employment, entrepreneurship, skill development, and financial inclusion. She emphasized that economic growth must focus on quality employment, ethical work culture, and continuous learning. She also explained the role of RSETI in providing skill-based training and supporting self-employment initiatives, encouraging students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities. The programme concluded successfully, motivating students to contribute responsibly towards sustainable economic growth and professional development.
