The Department of Commerce (Finance) organized the Inauguration of the Commerce Finance Association on 13th August 2025 at 11.00 a.m. in the College Auditorium to commence the association’s activities for the academic year. The programme began with Qirath by J. Irshath Hajira (II B.Com Finance), followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. K. Sheik Mydeen, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (Finance). The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. S. M. Abdul Kader, Principal of the College. Dr. R. Janet Rani, Vice-Principal (Unaided Courses), offered her felicitations. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Permbaraj, Trainer and Entrepreneur, JJ Logistics Consultancy & Training Services, on the topic “Job Opportunities in Logistics Domain.” He highlighted emerging career prospects, essential skills, and the global significance of the logistics sector. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Hasan Sharmila (III B.Com Finance). The event was successful and motivated students to actively engage in academic and professional development activities.
The Department of B.Com (Finance) organized a Guest Lecture on 12th December 2025 on the topic “Cracking the Code of Securities Market.” The programme aimed to enhance students’ understanding of capital market operations and promote informed investment practices. The session was delivered by Dr. K. Prabhakaran, SEBI Securities Market Trainer (SMARTs). He explained the structure of the securities market, including primary and secondary markets, stock exchanges, intermediaries, and the regulatory role of SEBI in protecting investor interests. He provided insights into financial instruments such as equity shares, debentures, bonds, mutual funds, derivatives, and exchange-traded funds. The session also covered Fundamental and Technical Analysis, portfolio diversification, risk assessment, and investor protection measures. The lecture concluded successfully, equipping students with practical knowledge of the securities market and encouraging responsible and informed investment decisions.
The Department of B.Com (Finance) organized a Guest Lecture on 08th January 2026 on the topic “Employability Skills & Career Opportunities.” The programme aimed to enhance students’ professional competencies and prepare them for the dynamic job market. The session began with Qirath by K. A. Esa Muzammil, followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. K. Sheik Mydeen, Head of the Department. The Presidential Address was delivered by S. M. Abdul Kader, Principal, and the Felicitation Address by Dr. R. Janet Rani, Vice Principal, motivating students to focus on skill development and career planning. The Resource Person, Dr. A. Jafar Sathic, Guest Lecturer, Government Arts & Science College, Ottapidaram, delivered an insightful lecture on communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. He also discussed career opportunities in banking, insurance, stock market, accounting, entrepreneurship, and higher education, along with interview strategies and resume preparation. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Deshna. The session was highly informative and motivated students to enhance their employability skills and career prospects.
