The Department of Commerce (Finance) organized the Association Inaugural Function on 09.09.2022 at the Seminar Hall. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about various government schemes available for new entrepreneurs and to motivate them towards self-employment.
The resource person, Mr. S. Ganesan, Assistant Director (Technical), District Industries Centre, Tirunelveli, delivered a lecture on “Government Schemes for New Entrepreneurs.” He explained schemes such as PMEGP and NEEDS and provided information about subsidies, eligibility criteria, and procedures for starting new businesses.
The session was interactive, and students clarified their doubts regarding loans, subsidies, and business registration. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The session was very useful and motivated students to think about entrepreneurship and business start-ups.
The Department of Commerce (Finance) organized a Guest Lecture on 11.11.2022 to enhance students’ employability and soft skills for career success. The programme began with the recitation of Qiradh by S. Ahamed Thanzeem, followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. K. Sheik Mydeen, who highlighted the importance of soft skills in the professional world.
The Resource Person, Dr. A. Jafar Sathic, Assistant Professor of BBA, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University College, delivered a lecture on “Soft Skills for Career Success.” He explained important skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, time management, and positive attitude, which are essential for career development.The session was interactive, and students actively participated and clarified their doubts. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. J. A. M. Omeray Farook. The guest lecture was informative and motivated students to develop essential soft skills for their future careers.
The Department of Commerce (Finance) organized the Valedictory Function on 08.04.2023 to mark the successful completion of the academic activities conducted during the year. The main objective of the programme was to motivate students to develop professional skills for their future careers.
The Resource Person, Dr. G. Balachandar, delivered a special lecture on the topic “Professional Skills for a Dazzling Career.” He highlighted the importance of communication skills, leadership qualities, adaptability, discipline, and continuous learning for professional success.
The session was informative and interactive, encouraging students to prepare themselves for career opportunities and workplace challenges. The programme concluded on an inspiring note, motivating students to build a successful professional career.
